Portland police looking for man who threw semen on women in grocery stores

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) - Portland police need your help identifying a man wanted for throwing semen on unsuspecting women in Portland-area grocery stores.

Police say the man followed women into stores, threw semen at them and then walked away. There have been two incidents reported at Southwest Portland grocery stores, as well as other possible incidents in Beaverton and Milwaukie.

A victim told KATU it happened to her twice at the Safeway store on Southwest Barbur Boulevard. She said it first occurred in November while she was shopping inside the store.

"I felt something kind of hit me in the back," she said.

She said it appeared to be semen, but she never saw the man.

She said it happened a second time on April 5 inside the parking garage.

"Ever since it happened the first time, you're always on high alert that something's going to happen, but I did not expect it a second time," she said.

Police have released the surveillance image above, which shows the suspect described as a Hispanic male, 20s to 40s, short-to-medium height and build. He may be driving a white, four-door car, pictured above.

Portland police said there are three additional female victims.

If caught, the man could be charged with harassment, which is a misdemeanor.

"Ultimately, the district attorney and/or a grand jury will determine charges, but at present, it appears that the crime of harassment, a misdemeanor, is the most applicable offense," Sgt. Pete Simpson of the Portland Police Bureau said in an email.

Beaverton police confirmed that police in Portland linked their suspect to a case in Beaverton. That incident happened in January 2016. Police said a man wearing a black beanie and a black jacket with white stripes on the sleeves began following a 27-year-old woman with her two children inside the Kmart at 3955 SW Murray Blvd. She turned when she felt something wet hit her and saw the suspect with a cup in his hand. The suspect fled the store.
