PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Portland Fire & Rescue recently saved multiple family pets from a fire, then provided medical attention with special pet oxygen masks.
PF&R says the pets were rescued from an apartment complex with heavy fire both inside and outside.
During the building search, crews located and saved many pets. After the pets were removed from the danger, the firefighters provided follow-up care with critical oxygen through "specially designed pet O2 masks."
"Life - Property - Environment is our primary consideration when responding to an emergency incident," the agency said in a social media post, and pets are no different - they're a "critical component in the 'Life' category!"
