ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. (TND) — Police officers in Maryland "quacked" the case and rescued a family of ducks stuck in a sewer Friday morning.
"Eastern District Patrol Platoon 2 got a call for a family of ducks stuck in a sewer this morning [Friday]," the Anne Arundel County Police Department wrote in a Facebook postJune 24.
The department said officers decided to just "wing" it when they "jumped into action, removed the sewer grate and reunited the family of ducks."
The social media post on the "worldwide webbed" had garnered dozens of comments and more than 1,000 likes by Monday. Facebook users thanked the officers for doing "eggs"-actly what needed to be done.
And as the old saying goes, these "birds of a feather" flocked together. A photo captured the happy duck family waddling away from the safety scare. There was no word on whether the officers would "bill" the fowl family for the trouble.
