OMRO, Wis. (WLUK) -- The owner of a ball python, found coiled around the engine of a woman's truck, has been fined.
Omro Police say the owner of the four-foot snake was issued a $313 citation for having an illegal animal in the city.
On Wednesday night, officers and a snake handler responded to the side of the road to capture the snake. The serpent is currently in possession of the snake handler.
According to police, they were able to identify the owner of the snake through social media. They say the snake was missing for about a month and a half before it was found under the truck hood.
The vehicle was towed due to some engine damage.
