WASHTENAW COUNTY, Mich. (TND) — A Michigan judge's reaction to a foul-mouthed defendant is making headlines for a second time.
Video of Washtenaw County JudgeCedric Simpson went viral after he ordered a man to more than a year behind bars for cursing.
Kiss my a--," the man told Simpson.
"You know what? No, no, no," responded Simpson.
At first, Simpson ordered the man to 93 days in jail for contempt of court.
The punishment didn't stop the defendant.
He continued to interrupt Simpson by telling him, "f--- you, f--- you."
Simpson continued adding 93 days each outburst.By the end, the man was ordered to serve 558 days in jail.
That's six 93's consecutive," said Simpson.
The man who will be locked up for the next year and half was in court for amisdemeanor trespassing charge, according to FOX 2. Darrell Jarrell was reportedly upset over the date of his next court appearance.
"I’m tired of this state, I’m ready to leave this state as soon as possible," Jarrell said. "You guys can kiss my a**."
The outburst was captured on a Zoom call where other defendants were watching.
A man on the call, who was up next to appear before Simpson, was shocked.
"I'm just seeing... How are you doing, sir," defendant Keith Jenkins told Simpson with a smile.
Simpson became famous earlier this year.
His reaction captured national attention when aman who was charged with driving with a suspended license appeared on Zoom while driving.
