OMAHA, Neb. (KPTM) - It's not every day that someone has their baby at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo, but now one woman can claim she did just that.

Kymica Hubbard gave birth to her daughter Drea on Sunday.

Hubbard said, "I didn't think I was going to have her in a public place."

Hubbard wasn't due to have her baby girl until May 14.

Hubbard said, "I was having contractions and it was getting closer and closer together, and I was telling my husband, 'OK, it's time to get off the train and let's go to the emergency room.'"

However, there wasn't enough time. Hubbard says she was halfway up a hill at the zoo when her water broke. Her husband, Justin Hubbard, had to deliver their daughter.

Justin said, "It was a crazy experience. I wouldn't trade it for the world ... she was crying, cooing and it was just the most beautiful thing that a man could ever see. It was a truly blessed experience."

Kymica said, "We just thank God for having her come out all healthy and we thank everybody from the zoo that came and helped the staff.”

Drea's parents say they have big plans for her first birthday party; it's going to be at the zoo. They say they might try to set something up so they can celebrate there every year.

Drea and her mom were taken to a local hospital after the delivery. They head home on Tuesday.
