WASHINGTON (ABC7) — A nun helped police find and arrest the suspect who carjacked her at gunpoint near a monastery Monday night in D.C., according to authorities.
D.C. police saie the carjacking happened in the1300 block of Quincy Street, NE at around 6:49 p.m. Officers say the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Brandon Brown, of D.C., took out his handgun and told the nun to give him the keys to her car which he then took and drove off in. This was all near the Franciscan Monastery of The Holy Land.
The car was later seen in the area of 26th Street and Benning Road, NE and the suspect ran off but police eventually chased him down.
Police say it was all thanks to the nun that Brown was arrested and the car and gun were recovered.
Brown is charged with armed carjackingand carrying a pistol without a license.
