A mom in Florida had the surprise of a lifetime after winning $2 million from a scratch-off lottery ticket. Even better? Her daughter had completed her last breast cancer treatment the day before.

Geraldine Gimblet from Lakeland, Florida, said the gas station clerk originally told her there were no tickets left and asked him to double check, as she likes the crossword games the most.

As luck would have it, she got the last one — and it secured her the top prize of $2 million. Gimblet opted for the one-time, lump-sum payment of $1.645 million.

Gimblet's daughter had just finished her last treatment for breast cancer the day before, something Gimblet had spent her entire life savings on.

"Gimblet was joined by her daughter and granddaughter to claim her big win, and when Chief of Staff, Reggie Dixon heard about the Gimblets, he came downstairs to join the celebration," a news release from the Florida Lottery says.
