WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) — "You never know when someone is in need of help."
A man and woman are now engaged thanks to quick work by firefighters.
Williamson Fire-Rescue in Tennesse was dispatched Monday afternoon to a vehicle fire which ended in crews saving something very special.
Officials said the driver of the vehicle had recently purchased an engagement ring for his girlfriend which was left in the car after the fire started.
Almost everything in the vehicle was destroyed, but the ring box containing this very important, sentimental item was saved with little damage to the box and none to the ring.
The driver made the decision to ask his girlfriend to marry him safely off the road where the vehicle fire occurred and ... she said yes!
Volunteer fire engineers Terry Burress, Stephen Hopkins and firefighter Mitchell Greenham were credited with saving the day so this couple did not lose their engagement ring — making a memory that will last forever along the way.
"We wish many years of happiness to the future bride and groom!" the fire department wrote in a Facebook post.
