CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) - A 25-year-old Clarksville man has been charged with assault, after he allegedly became upset his wife wouldn't cuddle with him because she was in the middle of breastfeeding their child.
According to the affidavit, Dustin Hartley was intoxicated after a night out drinking with friends when he came home to his wife and walked into the couple's bedroom, where she was breastfeeding their infant. When Hartley tried to cuddle with the woman, she "rebuked his advances."
Hartley and his wife began to argue, because he was upset she wouldn't cuddle, and he allegedly grabbed the child out of her arms. The woman told police she went into the child's room to let him "cool off," but he entered the room while still holding the baby and "began hitting her in the arms and chest with his free hand."
The woman says she kicked Hartley in the chest to get him off of her. He then allegedly put the child down and held her down. While he was doing so, the woman says she called 911.
