Man cruising in Caribbean learns he won lottery: 'My wife screamed and fell off the bed!'

What could be better than relaxing on a New Year’s cruise in the Caribbean?

Maybe finding out you have a winning lottery ticket worth $1 million while relaxing on a New Year’s cruise in the Caribbean!

That’s exactly what happened to Jerome Testa.

The aerospace technician was vacationing with his wife when the Virginia Lottery said “he went online to check the winning numbers in Virginia’s New Year’s Millionaire Raffle.

“That’s how he found out his ticket was one of five $1 million winners.”
“My wife screamed and fell off the bed!” Testa later said. “I still haven’t wrapped my head around it yet!”

There was an inconvenience: The winners had to return to Virginia in order to claim the top prize.

Testa bought his winning ticket,#125311, at a Wawa convenience store in Fredericksburg.The other winning tickets were sold in Arlington, Leesburg, Manassas, and Stafford.

Testa said he intends to use his winnings to take care of his family.
