RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (WPEC) - A driver is being treated in the emergency room after crashing his golf cart into the water at the Riviera Beach Marina.

New surveillance video shows the cart plunging off the dock.

“It looks like it almost landed on its roof at an angle because the roof is smashed in, that’s what worried me about the driver because it’s not like he had head protection or anything like that," said James Owsley with Ace Marine.

CBS12 reporter Michael Buczyner was first on scene and shared live video of the submerged golf cart. Rescue crews had already pulled away from the scene.

Riviera Beach Fire Rescue said on Twitter crews responded to that scene after getting a report of a possible drowning.

Fire Rescue said the driver managed to get himself out of the water before crews arrived. He's been taken to an emergency room for treatment, according to Fire Rescue.
