Maine doctor's former teacher sends needed masks to hospital during coronavirus outbreak
BRUNSWICK, Me. (WGME) -- A Maine doctor says his second-grade teacher sent masks to a hospital in need this week.
Brandon Giberson says he’s an emergency department physician at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.
He says the hospital recently asked for donations of N95 masks to help keep up with the anticipated need amid the coronavirus pandemic and he shared their request on his personal Facebook page.
“Today in the mail I received two sets of brand new N95 masks, shipped overnight to me from my SECOND GRADE TEACHER. The same lady who taught me how to write a complete sentence and to count by fives is now helping to keep me safe 25 years later,” wrote Giberson. “I love the little community I grew up in. Thanks so much Mrs. Wendy Hunnewell Belanger. I’m sorry I misbehaved so much in class.”
