His sister says she had a dream he'd find gold, then he won $837K lottery

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (WKRC) — A North Carolina man said his sister dreamed he would find gold and then he won the lottery.

"In her dream I found a bunch of gold," said David Atwell in an NC Education Lottery news release. "I guess dreams do come true."

Atwell bought his $1 Cash 5 ticket from a Jiffy Quik. The odds for his five numbers to all match were a 1-in-962,598 chance. But he said he was a lucky man at heart.

"My family always said I was the luckiest one in the family," Atwell said.

Atwell's wife said he was "hollering" so much when he found out he'd won, he scared the family cat.

He said he plans on giving some of the money to his church and pay some bills, according to the release.
