FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) - Kerri Barnard of Sanger feels like a survivor.

"I felt like it was a dragon in here!" Barnard said.

It wasn’t a dragon but rather a lizard that terrorized her Monday morning.

Either way, the fear was intense.

It happened while shewas working at a storage facility on the south end of town.

The ordeal was caught on surveillance camera.

"I left the door open,” she said. “A lizard came in before me."

The creatures are all over the place outside.

But they have never made it into the office.

“I stood there. And then it came back around the counter and it's looking at me. I did a run and jump on the counter, on my stomach," she said.

“Nobody was around. The bus drivers are going in and out. My boss wasn't here. The maintenance guy wasn't here. I recorded myself calling out for help."

So, she turned to social media for help.

"Somebody help me! Somebody come to my office and get the lizard, please! I'm gonna cry,” she said in the recording.

"I have sandals on! I have sandals on! It's gonna touch my [feet]."

At one point, the lizard scurried behind a display of moving boxes in a corner.

"Oh! It's making noises behind the boxes ... ah!" she screamed.

Barnard has been afraid of lizards for as long as she can remember.

"I had one fall in my hair last year," she said.

She posted about that one, too.

Eventually, Barnard mustered up the courage to finish work, while sitting on her countertop and avoiding her feet touching the ground.

She reached for her computer, answered the phone and filled out paperwork -- all while texting for help.

"I can't even get down. I know it's gonna get me," she said in the recording.

More than 10 minutes later, the lizard left.

Barnard survived the encounter -- this time.

"I don't like lizards!" she said.

But as the weather heats up, Barnard realizes things won’t get easier.

That’s when snakes start arriving on the property.

She’s scared of those, too.
