WAUTOMA, Wis. (WLUK) — Students preparing for a test at Wautoma High School in northeastern Wisconsin got quite the distraction when lightning struck a tree outside the school.
Principal Jennifer Johnson tells FOX 11 the strike occurred shortly before 8:30 a.m. Thursday, just as ninth and 10th grade students were preparing to take the ACT Aspire test.
In a video submitted to FOX 11, the bolt appeared to shatter the tree. No one was hurt, and the school was not damaged, according to Johnson.
Johnson adds that the students, despite being distracted, were excited to see such an amazing act of Mother Nature.
