"One of the names that kind of rung really clear with us and grew on us was a take off of one of Dolly's famous songs. So we're going to name this little gator Jawlene," CEO of Gatorland Mark McHugh said.

The nameis an homage to Parton's 1973 song "Jolene" and was chosen from a list of names submitted to Gatorland.

Since Jawlene was taken to Gatorland she has been receiving treatment in isolation. Officials with the parks say she can now eat two mice completely on her own using the back of her tongue.

Park officials say they are holding off on giving Jawlene any potential prosthetic for her upper jaw until she gains more weight and feels more comfortable in her new environment.
