NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — How many times has your phone died on you?
You're in the middle of a text and, poof, it's just dead.
How many pictures do you have to delete in order to download an app? Moms, we know that you know what we're talking about.
Smartphones these days don't seem so smart, but as FOX 17 News has found out -- there are ways around that.
Kimberly Smith has a high stress job in a law office in Gallatin.
She's a hard working mom who says her cell phone keeps her connected – and also helps her getaway. Kimberly also tells us she regularly ends up going over her data limit and jokes that she stays in trouble with her husband for it.
Going over the data limit hits our bottom line. Monthly bills can go up 25 percent or more when we run out of data before the end of the month and get charged for overages. New information from the Pew Research center shows of the people asked, 37% reach their max amount and 27% say their bills are higher than expected.
So what can we do to save space on our phones?
Android and iPhone users can put all those pictures in the Google picture app. It backs them up so you can free up space on your phone.
Swipe through all of the apps running in the background. They drain the battery quickly.
If your current apps need updated think twice about updating them if they’re running fine. Those app updates usually take up more space.
And as for those apps, make sure you go into settings and turn off the “cellular data." You don’t want your data being used when you’re not even using those apps.
Turn off WiFi access, Bluetooth and Airplane Mode when you’re not using those. Not only do they work on your data, but they drain your battery and as we know, batteries, especially in the iPhone, have been a headache to say the least.
