KEARNEY, Neb. (KHGI) – If you could make a difference in the world, what would you choose to do? After entering a competition, one Nebraska high school student knew exactly what he would do to leave his mark.

“My name is Logan Greeno and my mission is to create a difference through fishing by creating an organization called Casting to Make a Difference," said Greeno, a2022 CASNR Change Maker Competitionrecipient.

Who says big ideas have to come from big names?

“I just wanted to create that opportunity for kids and create a mentor system for UNL," said Greeno.

Inspired by both his passion for fishing and his longtime friendship with his best bud Hunter Connor, Greeno knew how he wanted to make a difference.

Greeno submitted a two-minute video to CASNR Change Maker Competition. Casting his ideas out to the world as well as to the judges, Greeno’s idea won him a full-tuition scholarship at University of Nebraska–Lincoln, which he begins this fall.

When asked if he considers himself a change maker, Greeno said it’s pretty simple:

“I just wanted kids to have the same experience as me growing up and being able to fish or at least be introduced to it to see if they like it.”

Connor shares the same outlook.

"Follow your dreams too. Whatever you want could happen," said Connor.
