BRISTOL, Va. (WCYB) — 16-year-old Levi Haga loves to speed through the halls of Virginia High School.
Kaitlin Owens is a paraprofessional at VHS and Haga's aid.
"He has a tendency to want to race in his stander here," Owens said. "We use his stander to help him stretch."
However, if School Resource Officer Jason Barlow hears Owens and Haga speeding, he tracks the two down.
"It started as a joke," Owens said. "He (Haga) told me he was going too fast, I jokingly said, 'You’re going to get a ticket.'"
Barlow writing Levi a speeding ticket has become a daily occurrence for nearly two years now.
It's always laughter, smiles, he brings it out in everybody," Barlow said. "It’s just one of those things, you just got to do. It just makes his day, it makes my day. Then everybody else, it’s just contagious with the smiles."
"He’s 16 and like most 16-year-olds, they're getting their license, but he’s getting to drive up and down the hall and jump bumps, like most teen drivers want to do," Owens said.
Owens said every time Haga gets a ticket, it's the highlight of his day.
