Heroic save: Trapped puppy rescued from 12-foot drop

PORT MAYACA, Fla. (WPEC) — Animal Services officers in Florida pulled off an amazing rescue.

Tuesday evening, they got a call about a dog thatsomehow ended up on a spillway, with a 12-foot drop around the rim canal, with no way to safely escape.

Saving the trapped animal took some time and maneuvering but they didn’t give up and those efforts paid off.

TheMartin County Sheriff's Office reports the dog is in good shape and in great hands at the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast.
