(WKEF/WRGT) - You've likely noticed a change on your Facebook feed recently. Local news pages are becoming less frequent on your timeline.

It's due to the recent change in the social network's algorithm. Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg announced the change recently, saying users will now see more content from friends and family over posts such as news, videos or posts from brands.

If you'd like to see more local news in your feed, there's a simple way to do so:

1.) Open your Facebook app and click on the three lines in the bottom right hand of the screen. Scroll down and select "Settings."

2.) After selecting "Settings," a menu will pop up giving you several choices, select "News Feed Preferences."

3.) A new screen will pop up that will ask you to prioritize what you see first.

4.) You can then choose which pages you'd like to see more frequently in your News Feed.
