Hawks are known for capturing mice, rabbits and squirrels.

But one in Stuart landed something completely different: a drone.

Stuart Police say a board member for Stuart Crime Watch saw a hawk holding onto a drone in a tree outside her home as she sipped her morning coffee.

"I heard a strange noise," said Sally Franklin.

The hawk dropped the drone before flying away.

The propellers were still spinning. Franklin walked over and turned it off.

The drone happened to belong to a young student who lived nearby.

Police are not sure whether it was snagged by the hawk in mid-flight or if it crash-landed in the tree.
