Savannah, Georgia officials are after a prankster who really puts the eyes in vandalized, or who puts the eyes ON, we should say.

The City of Savannah on Friday asked people to come forward if they had any information about a pair of novelty googly eyes placed on a city monument.

City officials apparently don't see the humor in the pair of plastic peepers found stuck to the statue of American Revolution hero, General Nathanael Greene.

"Who did this?!," Savannah's communications staff wrote on the city's Facebook page. "It may look funny but harming our historic monuments and public property is no laughing matter; in fact, it's a crime."

Savannah officials say they hope to find the person responsible, and ask anyone with information to please call the Savannah Police Department.
