CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — It's not quite the holiday season, but one West Ashley woman already had a wild houseguest at her front door!
Robyn Schnessel told ABC News 4 on Tuesday that an alligator wandered onto her front porch in the Grand Oaks Plantation area.
The encounter was captured on her home security camera. Her dogs can be heard barking followed by a nervous scream fromSchnessel.
She called SCDNR who told her that they would have to kill the animal if they responded. Instead,Schnessel decided to wait for around an hour for the gator to leave.
She said the animal was seen trying to cross her neighborhood's main street, causing vehicles to drive around it.
Thank you, Robyn, for sharing this unique encounter with us!
