MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) — Eighteen months ago, Demi Skipper started what sounded like an impossible task: she was going to take a bobby pin and trade up until she got a house.

Demi posted her bartering journey on social media. She has a Tik Tok account with five million followers and anInstagram page with almost 300,000 followers.

Her first trade was for a pair of earrings. From "$0.01 to $10" she posted on her Instagram account. She then traded the pink earrings for a set of four margarita glasses she said were worth $24.

It was only up from there. A set of margarita glasses were traded for a vacuum cleaner. Then, from a vacuum cleaner to a snowboard. The trades slowly increased in value and soon Skipper found herself with a 2008 Dodge Caravan worth $1,095. Along the way, she traded everything from shoes to a diamond necklace to a Peloton exercise bike. Twenty-seven swaps later, she's trading up from a solar-powered trailer to a home.

The Montgomery County government shared on Facebook that Demi has traded her solar-powered trailer to two Tennessee relators in order to receive a home.

The realtors, Ciera and Bill Netherton, made the decision to trade for the trailer in order to promote the Montgomery County area nationally.

Demi and her husband plan to be in Clarksville for around three months while they renovate the home.
