Two Florida children ages 10 and 11 stole their mother's car and drove for three hours Thursday before being stopped by deputies, police said.

Deputies say the kids first stole their mother's car in North Port. The 10-year-old boy began driving with his 11-year-old sister in the passenger seat.

They drove for three hours before being stopped by deputies at 3:50 a.m. on I-75 in Alachua County, according to police.

Deputies learned that the kids had been reported missing in North Port.

"Contact was made with the mother of the children who declined to pursue charges and drove three hours north to Alachua County to take custody of both kids," deputies said in a release.
