FT. MYERS, Fla. (WKRC) - Just 10 days after 17 students and teachers were killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, their hockey team won the Florida state championship.
"We didn't play for ourselves. We played for the victims," one player told CNN. "Just very passionate, emotional, just left it on the ice."
"It's been a rough week for all of us and hockey for us is more of a stress reliever," another player said. "So, we come out on the ice, we're able to just release everything."
In March, the team will compete at the national championships in Minnesota.
