It's no secret that cats can get themselves into some interesting situations. One kitten in North Carolina proved just that when firefighters had to pull the feline from a compromising position Tuesday.

Members of the Turkey Volunteer Fire Department posted about the incident on Facebook. They said they responded to a home on Thompson Street Tuesday morning to help a cat stuck in a tire rim.

They were able to get the cat’s head out of the hole in the rim.

The kitten was not hurt during the rescue. People praised and thanked the firefighters on Facebook, writing "good job guys" and "glad the kitten is OK."

Turkey is a small town with a population of about 300 people. The community is located in the eastern portion of North Carolina, roughly 71 miles southeast of Raleigh.
