LOS BANOS, Calif. (KMPH) — Above and beyond the call means many different things.
A Los Banos firefighter in California did just that.
Cpt. Thompson made breakfast for some children before school after their mother was taken to the hospital, according to the fire department.
The Engine 1 crew stayed at the home until a family member arrived.
While waiting, they helped get the children ready for school.
The kids ate cinnamon-sugar toast and orange juice.
The mother commented on the Facebook post and thanked firefighters for their help.
"You guys are amazing and I thank you so much for taking care of my babies in one of scariest days of my life! They told me all about it when I got home and my heart was filled with so much gratefulness," Karen Mendoza Silva said.
Well done, sir!
