McDonald's unexpectedly brings fan-favorite sauce back for a limited time

DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) — A fan-favorite sauce is back for a limited time at some McDonald's restaurant locations.
Beginning March 31, the legendary Szechuan sauce will be available exclusively on the McDonald's app, according to a press release.
The sweet and savory sauce hashints of soy, garlic, ginger and mild vinegar notes. The sauce was first introduced in 1998. It’s only returned three other times in the past 24 years, restaurant officials said.
Customers can receive a Szechuan Sauce for free with any chicken nuggets order or they can purchase up to five a la carte packets.
As an added bonus, the sauce is back in style. The golden foil packets come in five different designs, which together spell “Szechuan.”
