A San Antonio family is learning a painful lesson about wildlife.

The family thought they found a pair of adorable domestic kittens, until they had to learn the hard way that they were, in fact, bobcats.

Three people are now recovering from bites.

Experts say bobcat kittens have black tipped ears, differentiating them from domestic house cats.

The City of San Antonio Animal Care Services reminds people to leave wildlife in the wild.

The bobcats, now orphaned, are under quarantine until officials release them..
