ABERDEEN, Md. (WJLA) -- A Maryland pilot took to the friendly skies earlier this week to leave a nasty message for COVID-19.

On Tuesday afternoon, the aviator took off from the Harford County Airport in a single-engine plane. They then weaved their way across northern Maryland, spelling out "F*** COVID-19." The witty, 194-mile flight path is visible on aviation websites flightradar24.com and flightaware.com.

Flight records show the message in the sky took nearly two hours to complete at speeds topping 135 miles per hour. Takeoff was marked as 4:02 p.m. The landing occurred at 5:51 p.m.

According to Federal Aviation Administration records, the aircraft— a Piper PA-28 Cherokee — is registered to Dean Hines of Baltimore County. The plane, which is primarily designed for flight training, air taxi and personal use, has been manufactured since the early 1960s.
