Authorities said a car elevator malfunction left a sports car hanging in an elevator shaft at a "high-end" dealership in Palm Beach County, Florida.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue said units responded to calls for help Tuesday around 4:30 p.m.

"Initial arriving units found a unique situation,"Palm Beach County Fire noted on social media.

The department also shared photos of the scene, showing a damaged Ferrari Roma at Ferrari of Palm Beach.

Authorities said the car got stuck in the hoistway while it was being moved inside the dealership.

Crews first had to handle a fuel leak, which required them to cut power to the business.

Once the leak was dealt with, special operations and Kauff's Towing worked together to remove the car from the elevator shaft using multiple 50,000 pound winches.

It took crews around four hours to remove the car from the elevator shaft, according to authorities.

"This was a long, multi-faceted incident that had many different aspects to it," the department said.

There were no injuries.
