Fan-favorite discontinued Doritos flavor to hit shelves for first time in 20 years

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A fan-favorite flavor of Doritos that hasn't been on store shelves in two decades will soon make its return, but just for a limited time.

Frito-Lay first introduced Guacamole Doritos in 2001 as a limited-time item, but they quickly became a fan favorite. Unfortunately they were discontinued in 2006, and like many iconic limited flavors from the early 2000s, the chip faded into obscurity despite fans urging the brand to bring it back.

It seems those prayers have finally been answered, since Doritos started teasing the return of the classic flavor on Instagram on April 18 with a post captioned, "We know y'all been asking for this one."

The chips officially hit store shelves on April 28, but the brand was clear they were once again a limited-time item. They didn't announce how long they'd be available, so interested customers may want to act fast.
