WEBSTER, N.Y. (WHAM) - Monroe County Sheriff's deputies are investigating after a gas station was burglarized and more than $7,300 worth of cigarettes was stolen from the store.
A manager at the Speedway on Empire Boulevard said they found a cardboard box with several cartons of cigarettes on the side of the building around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
After reviewing security camera footage, the manager spotted someone approach the store on July 2 at 11:15 p.m.
The suspect got out of a small, dark-colored SUV behind the building, then walked up to the security camera lens and spray painted over it. He then pried open the storage room and stole 70 cartons of Newport 100s smooth red menthol cigarettes.
The suspect is described as a black man wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and dark shoes.
