NOTTOWAY COUNTY, Va. (WSET) - The Crewe Police Department said on its Facebook page that it has recently noticed some "suspicious activity" and a large amount of foot traffic in the town.

According to a Facebook post by the department, police have reported individuals who appear to be "walking aimlessly in circles while staring at their phones." They say they have stopped and talked to these individuals and discovered that they are hunting down, capturing and training virtual Pokémon characters.

Crewe Police say in an effort to remain aware of who is in their community, they set out on their own adventure Sunday morning to hunt down these alleged Pokémon creatures taking over the town.

As always, the Crewe Police Department reports that is has indeed captured the wanted individuals and found out that they're pretty police friendly.

Now, on to a serious note, the department wants to remind those playing the new Pokémon GO game to always practice safety first.

"Crossing streets with your eyes focused on your phone screen is dangerous. We understand that it's hard work saving the virtual world, but we'd prefer you not walk out into oncoming traffic. If you become road kill who will train the Pokémon? Think about it..."
