Couple named Harvey and Irma married 75 years

SPOKANE, Wash. (WKRC) - A couple named Harvey and Irma are celebrating 75 years of marriage this year.

104-year-old Harvey and 92-year-old Irma were shocked to hear the names of two massive hurricanes hitting the U.S. this summer.

First, it was Hurricane Harvey heading through the Gulf of Mexico and hitting southeast Texas and Louisiana.

Now, it's Hurricane Irma barreling down on Florida.

When their daughter told them about the coincidence, they didn't believe her at first.

"Oh, yeah, sure, and she looked at me and said, 'Mom, I'm telling you the truth.' Oh, I'm sorry," Irma told KXLY.

"It's so sad and I don't like that. It bothers me."

Irma will be turning 93 in November. The two married in 1942.

Not only have they raised three kids and have several grandchildren, but they've also helped raise more than 100 foster children.
