Controversial billboard telling liberals to leave Texas has been taken down

VEGA, Texas (KVII) — The billboard along Interstate 40 eastbound near Vega that stirred up some controversy yesterday is being removed.

The client that purchased the billboard asked the company to take it down around lunchtime today. The sign was put up around 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Crews were able to take the sign down in less than an hour after it took about an hour and a half to get the sign up.

The billboard said "Liberals, Please continue along I-40 until you have left the great state of Texas."
