Rainbow baby crowned as new face of Gerber Baby

WASHINGTON (TND) — A 10-month-old rainbow baby from Colorado has been announced as the adorable new face of Gerber Baby.

It was the 13th year the early childhood nutrition leader has held the photo search.

Madison "Maddie" Mendoza from Colorado captured the attention of the judges with a standout throwback submission of her mom, according to a news release.

Her parents, Crystal and Jud, said she enjoys her baby music classes, thrives in her swim lessons, loves hiking with her mom and dad and enjoys exploring new foods.

Being a rainbow baby, Maddie has brought us immeasurable joy with every milestone, snuggle and moment spent with her enriching our lives and making every day more meaningful and beautiful,” her mom said. “We look forward to witnessing her grow into a kind, compassionate, strong, independent and worldly individual as we hope to be stationed overseas again to teach Maddie about all the different parts of the world.

Maddie's parents have been together since high school with her mom being a dentist and her dad aLieutenant Colonel physician in the Air Force.

Gerber President and CEO, Tarun Malkani, said the company is excited to partner with Maddie and her family throughout the next year to highlight the full-circle journey from baby to parent.

Being the next Gerber Baby means Maddie, according to the company, will work to help the next generation of babies grow and thrive.

Maddie and her family were awarded a $25,000 cash prize, free Geber products for up to one year, a new wardrobe from Gerber Childrenswear and surprise perks from partners.

Gerber will also match the cash prize with a donation to support March of Dimes' maternal and infant health programs.
