An ice cream truck staple is coming to an end.

Klondike confirmed the news that its beloved Choco Taco is being discontinued after nearly 40 years in circulation.

Over the past two years, we have experienced an unprecedented spike in demand across our portfolio and have had to make very tough decisions to ensure availability of our full portfolio nationwide," Klondike said.

As a result, the company cut the ice cream in taco-shaped cones from its products. The packaged ice cream was born in the 1980s,according to a 2016 article in Eater, and has been a staple in ice cream trucks and novelty ice cream sections at stores.

The product featured ice cream spooned into a sugar cone "shell," doused in chocolate and topped with chopped peanuts.

However, Klondike said the Choco Taco is not as popular as their other products. People took to social media to express their outrage with comments like "Choco Taco has fallen" and "They always take the best things away from us."

But alas, there may be hope. Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian tweeted an offer to buy the rights to the sweet treat to "keep it from melting away from future generations' childhoods."

For now, fans may still find some Choco Tacos as the current inventory runs out, but the frozen treat is no more.
