GAITHERSBURG, Md. (ABC7)– A company called Carvana has opened its newest "car vending machine" in Gaithersburg.
Carvana opened its first such car vending machine in November 2015 in Nashville, and has since launched nine more, including the Montgomery County location.
Others are in Texas, North Carolina and Florida.
The fully-automated, coin-operated machine is eight stories tall and holds 30 vehicles. Located at15710 Shady Grove Road, it can be seen from I-270.
Customers who shop for, finance and ultimately buy a car on Carvana.com can then schedule the vehicle to be picked up at the vending machine. When they arrive, they receive special Carvana coin to activate the vending process.
"All Carvana vehicles come with a seven-day return policy, an upgrade to the traditional dealership test-drive experience, giving customers the chance to see if the vehicle really fits their life," according to a release from the company.
The machine is open Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
