MACON, Ga. (WGXA) - A meeting at a Macon church ended in an all-out brawl Monday night.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, Greater Bellevue Baptist Church held a meeting to take a formal vote on whether or not to keep its current pastor.

Church trustees asked the sheriff's office if a deputy could attend because tension already existed within the church.

Parishioners reportedly became irate during the meeting and once deputies noticed the escalation, they decided that the vote would occur at a later date and the meeting should end.

Still, the situation became more heated. Some members of the congregation became disruptive and a brawl began.

More deputies arrived and all church members were asked to leave the premises.

No injuries were reported, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies couldn't determine a primary aggressor or re-contact anyone involved once the crowd dispersed.

Those with any information about the incident should contact the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
