SEATTLE (KOMO) - Boeing got creative recently during an 18-hour endurance test.
The plane's flight path outlined the 787-8 over 22 states.
Boeing said the crew decided to get creative instead of flying random patterns.
"The nose is pointing at the Puget Sound region, home to Boeing Commercial Airplanes. The wings stretch from northern Michigan near the Canadian border to southern Texas. The tail touches Huntsville, Alabama," Boeing said.
The flight started Wednesday afternoon and ended about 10 a.m. Thursday.
The endurance flight of the 787-8 Dreamliner was part of engine certification.
