WASHINGTON (TND) — A married woman eloped with another man -- and her husband went on to marry her lover's wife, according to a report.
Interestingly, both women are named Ruby.
It all apparently went down in Khagaria, which is a city in India.
EVT Bharatin February reported that a man named "Neeraj married the wife of Mukesh, who eloped with the former's wife," in an act of revenge.
It allegedly happened after Neeraj learned his wife, Ruby, was cheating on him with Mukesh, who was also married.
EVT Bharat noted that while Neeraj and Ruby had been married since 2009 and had four children, she recently dumped him and eloped with Mukesh.
It is believed that she was having a relationship with this man for a long time,"EVT Bharat noted.
So, Neeraj plotted his revenge and married Mukesh's wife, Ruby.
The unique story is the talk of the town in (the)Khagaria district these days," according toEVT Bharat.
The news follows another bizarre story out of India.
A woman who died during her wedding rituals was replaced with her sister and ended up marrying the groom instead.
News 18, which is an Indian Media television channel owned by Network 18, recently reported that the woman died in front of the Bhagwaneshwar Mahadev Temple in Bhavnagar, India.
News 18 said the bride's name was Hetal and was "the daughter of a man identified as Jinabhai Rathore. She "was in the process of marrying Vishal, the son of Ranabhai Butabhai Algotar."
Hetal reportedly said she felt dizzy before fainting. Then, she died.
The doctors told her she had died of a heart attack after she was rushed to a hospital nearby," according to the media outlet. "Even as the family mourned the death of Hetal, relatives proposed an alternative plan to ensure the wedding celebrations continued."
The family, according to News 18, then decided to marry Hetal's younger sister instead.
Hetal’s body was reportedly kept in cold storage until the ceremony was over," the report noted. "Corporator of Bhavnagar city and leader of Maldhari Samaj, Laxmanbhai Rathore described the incident as very sad. He said even though the family was shocked by the death of their daughter, members of society convinced them to set an example and not send the bridegroom and his family empty-handed."
