Anglers reel in trophy tarpon off South Carolina pier

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — A large tarpon fish was caught off the new Folly Pier in South Carolina on Monday.

Charleston Parks tweeted about the catch Friday. According to CP, Philip Sullivan was fishing off Folly Pier when he felt a "huge" bite. He fought the large fish for about an hour before dropping the fishing pole off the pier to his friend, James Strange.

The pair was then able to successfully reel it in from the beach.
