An aggressive chicken is to blame for the death of a man in Ireland, and that chicken has ties to the United States.

Authorities in the Emerald Isle said the chicken had a violent history.

The Irish Examiner reported that it attacked a child and was moved to property belonging to the victim, Jasper Kraus.

Then, on April 28, 2022, Kraus was attacked.

One witness said Kraus “was lying on the kitchen floor in a pool of blood and had a wound inflicted on the back of one of his legs,” according to the Examiner.

The victim’s tenant testified Kraus said the word “rooster” while drifting in and out of consciousness.

Paramedics tried CPR, but he died.

The investigation revealed Kraus’ leg wound caused massive bleeding, and that there was a trail of blood that originated in the chicken house.

Also, the bad luck bird had blood on its claws and the victim’s daughter told investigators she knew that particular chicken, “as he attacked my daughter before.”

The daughter also complained about having to clean up her dad’s blood and said families of murder victims get that sort of help.

An autopsy determined Kraus died from cardiac arrhythmia, also known as an irregular heartbeat. He had been suffering from heart problems and other medical issues, and the chicken attack was simply the last straw.

The attacker was reportedly a Brahma chicken, and the Brahma is an American breed of chicken.

The report did not say what happened to the chicken.
