SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) – Hold on to your hats!
Park rangers at Yellowstone National Park made quite the discovery this past summer.
Employees retrieved 438 hats from hot springs in the area.
The discovery was mentioned in a post on the national park's official Twitter account.
"Most people know not to throw things into hot springs, but many of the impacts we're seeing (438 hats in hot springs this summer) seem accidental. So, hold onto your hats!" Megan Norr, a geothermal monitor, said.
A few Twitter users commented on the post, one noting that his daughters saw some of the hats.
Another user jokingly said the national park should sell the hats at the visitor center and name them "Geyser Hats."
