SAN ANTONIO -- A tough little 4-year-old Texas girl is recovering after breaking her arm during the Mutton Bustin’ competition at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.

Video of the event shows Kennedi Sullivan shoot out of the gate, holding onto the sheep for dear life. She's was doing great, but then it happened. Kennedi fell off the sheep, and her right arm was not moving.

X-rays show the fall broke her arm. But what it did not do was break her spirit. She gave a nice thumbs-up after surgery. And to say she came out strong is an understatement. Kennedi told us she expected to win the competition, and she ended up doing just that.

Kennedi took home first place with a pink cast and all.
