The 78-foot Red Spruce will be displayed on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol.
We went from the mountains to the sea and up here to D.C. in about 14 days," Adrianne Rubiaco from the national forest in N.C. told 7News on Friday.
Rubiaco also adds that they will be milling Ruby after the time spent on the West Lawn this holiday season and its "wood will be used for instruments that will be mainly guitars and banjos and they will be made by local instruments markers in western North Carolina and then donated back to those same local communities."
Every year, a different National Forest provides a tree for the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol for the holiday season.
